It was established on 10th February 1949 under the Poona University Act. The university houses 46 academic departments. It is popularly known as the ‘Oxford of the East’. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses.

Designation:   Project Assistant

Project Duration: Till 31st March 2026, likely to be continued up to 31st March 2029.

Project Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- fixed for PA-I and Rs. 30,000/- for PA-II and Rs. 40,000/- for candidates with a Ph. D degree.

Qualification:  

• Project Assistant — I : B.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Environment  Science or Mathematics with 2 years’ experience /1V1.Sc. Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Environment Science or Mathematics / B.E. (preferably in Electronics or Mechanical) with 1 year experience or any equivalent qualification.
• Project Assistant — II : M.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Environment Science or Mathematics / B.E. (preferably in Electronics or Mechanical) or any equivalent qualification with 1 year experience. Candidates with Ph.D. are also welcome.
