Organization Profile

The College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology (CAEPHT), Ranipool, is a premier constituent college of the Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur. Established in 2006, the college is strategically located in Ranipool, Gangtok, on National Highway 10. Spread over 7.71 hectares, CAEPHT is dedicated to advancing education, research, and innovation in the fields of agricultural engineering and post-harvest technology, contributing significantly to the agrarian landscape of the North-Eastern region of India.

Project Overview

The SRF position is part of a research project focused on developing and implementing advanced technological solutions for agriculture. The role specifically involves working on sensor-based and IoT-embedded systems for applications in agriculture and water management.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following:

  • Option A: A Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Digital Systems and Computer Electronics, Electronics & Computer Science, Instrumentation, Physics and Electronics, or a closely related discipline. The Bachelor’s degree must be of 4 or 5 years duration.

  • Option B: An M.Tech. degree in Soil & Water Engineering, Irrigation & Drainage Engineering (IDE), Soil & Water Conservation Engineering (SWCE), or an equivalent specialization. The Bachelor’s degree must be of 4 or 5 years duration.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Hands-on experience in the development of sensor-based and IoT-embedded systems.

  • Proficiency in working with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi) and their programming.

  • Practical experience in applying these technologies to challenges in agriculture or water management.

Fellowship Details

  • Pay Scale: ₹37,000 per month + House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per applicable rules.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women (as of the interview date). Age relaxation is as per Government of India rules.

Tenure

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for six months, which may be extended further based on the candidate’s performance and the availability of the project budget.
