Qualification

Assistant Professor

• MD / MS / DNB / DM / M.Ch or equivalent qualification in the concerned discipline from NMC / MCI approved medical colleges.

• Must fulfill eligibility criteria as per Teachers Eligibility Qualifications (TEQ) in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025.

• Candidates with DM / M.Ch / DNB are not required to have additional teaching experience.

• Must have permanent registration under any Central / Meghalaya State Medical Council.

• Must have completed one year Senior Residency after completion of MD/MS.

• Candidate must be a serving Medical Officer/Specialist under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya.

Senior Resident

• MD / MS / DNB in the concerned subject.

Tutor / Demonstrator

• MBBS Degree from a recognized institution.

Pay & Allowances

• In-service candidates applying for deployment will have their pay protected.

• Assistant Professors may receive an additional Teaching Honorarium decided by the Health & Family Welfare Department.

Tenure

Assistant Professor positions will have a tenure of 5 years from the date of assumption of charge or until promotion to Associate Professor, subject to compliance with National Medical Commission (NMC) norms.
