Srinivasan College of Arts & Science was founded by Shri A. Srinivasan, Founder–Chairman of the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Charitable and Educational Trust, Perambalur. The trust was registered on 18th January 1994 under the Tamil Nadu Societies Act.

The college commenced on 29th November 2004 as per G.O. No.: MS. 477 and is affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli (Ref. No. 23015/d1/2004 dated: 02.12.2004).
