National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NITPY), nestled in the scenic coastal region of Karaikal on the banks of the river Kaveri, is one among the ten newly established NITs in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Despite its young age, NIT Puducherry is committed to producing effective, responsible technocrats capable of contributing to the nation’s growth and prosperity.

Student admissions have been conducted since the academic year 2010–11 through JEE Main, with 50% of seats reserved for candidates from Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam, and the remaining 50% filled on an all-India basis.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Post-Graduate degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade.

  2. B.Ed. degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.

  3. Must have qualified NET / SLET
    OR
    Possess a Ph.D. in Education or in the concerned subject as prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • M.Ed. or M.Ed. with Specialization

  • Ph.D. in Education
