Post Date: 17/04/2024
Hiring Institute: The Central Law College
Organisation Profile: In 1984, Prof. R.V. Dhanapalan founded the Central Law College. During that era, the government initiated the establishment of law institutions in several Southern Indian cities, including as Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, and Coimbatore. A native of Salem, Prof. R.V. Dhanapalan is a Senior Professor of Constitutional Law at the Madras Law institution. He dreamed of and succeeded in establishing a law institution in the district. The founder’s persistence paid off, as the college was created in 1984 by an order of the Madras High Court despite the challenges it faced in obtaining the necessary approvals and legalities.
The University of Madras complied with the directive and in 1984 gave the college temporary affiliation for a five-year B.A.B.L. Integrated Course intended for secondary school graduates. A provisional affiliation for a three-year BL Degree Based Course for students with graduate degrees in any field was granted to the college in 1989.
Following several setbacks, the University of Madras officially recognized the original provisional affiliation as a permanent affiliation in 1993 for both the three-year BL Degree Based Course and the five-year B.A.B.L. Integrated Course.
