  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title

  • MoES Grant: “Impacts of the Tropical Convergence Zone and Monsoon Low Pressure System on Summer Monsoon Variability: Observations and Models”

Qualifications

Essential:

  • M.Sc./B.Tech/M.Tech in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Physics, Mathematics, Meteorology, Climate Science, Oceanography, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Qualified in CSIR-UGC-NET (LS), GATE, JEST, or equivalent.

  • Exemption: BS-MS/MSc from IISERs/IITs/IISc with CGPA ≥ 8/10.

Desirable:

  • Background in Tropical Meteorology, Monsoon Dynamics, Low Pressure Systems, or Tropical Convergence Zone.

  • Knowledge of Fluid Dynamics applied to atmospheric circulation.

  • Proficiency in Python programming (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, xarray).

  • Experience or strong interest in atmospheric modelling and climate data analysis.

Salary

  • ₹37,000/- + HRA per month

Tenure

  • 1 year, extendable based on performance
