After India’s independence, the Government of India prioritized rural and agricultural development as a national objective. In 1949, following the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan University Education Commission, the concept of rural universities emerged.
In 1954, an Indo-American team led by Dr. K.R. Damle, Vice-President of ICAR, proposed the establishment of a Rural University based on the U.S. Land-Grant model, leading to the creation of G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT) — the first agricultural university in India, dedicated to advancing agricultural education, research, and extension.

₹650/hour (up to ₹30,000/month) – for candidates meeting Assistant Professor eligibility

₹550/hour (up to ₹25,000/month) – for candidates possessing Master’s degree only
