Organization Profile:

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, has been dedicated to the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities (PwDs) since its inception.

Established to serve individuals with multiple disabilities, NIEPMD conducts extensive activities including awareness programs, HRD initiatives, research and development, assistive technology services, and livelihood development for persons with disabilities. The institute has evolved as a key national center for training, research, and rehabilitation in the field of multiple disabilities.

Associate Professor

Employment Type:

Department:

Medical Science

Qualification:

  • MBBS with Doctor of Medicine (MD) in any discipline

  • 3 years of experience

  • Valid MCI Registration

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline

  • Experience in guiding research scholars and conducting extension and outreach activities

  • Experience in working with persons with multiple disabilities

  • Published work in reputed journals or presentations at national/international conferences

Eligibility for Deputation:

Officers under Central / State Government / Universities / Recognised Research Institutes / PSUs / Semi-Government / Autonomous / Statutory Organisations:

  1. Holding analogous teaching post on regular basis

  2. Five years’ service as Assistant Professor (Pay Level 11 or equivalent), OR

  3. Ten years’ service as Lecturer (Pay Level 10 or equivalent)

Eligibility for Promotion:

  • As per DoPT norms

  • 10 years of regular service in Level 10, as NIEPMD(D) currently does not have a regular post in Level 11 (Assistant Professor phase).

Pay Scale:

Pay Level-12 of the 7th CPC — ₹78,800/- to ₹2,09,200/-
