🎓 Qualification & Eligibility

1. Eligibility (A or B)

(A)
(i) Master’s degree in the concerned / relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

(ii) Must have cleared NET (UGC / ICAR / CSIR) / SLET / SET in the concerned discipline OR awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 (as amended).

📌 Ph.D. candidates registered prior to 11 July 2009 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET subject to fulfillment of UGC-prescribed conditions (regular mode, thesis evaluation by two examiners, open viva, publications, conference presentations, and certification by Registrar/Dean).

📌 NET/SLET/SET is not mandatory for disciplines where such tests are not conducted.

OR

(B)
Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university ranked among the Top 500 in any one of the following World University Rankings (at any time):

  • QS World University Rankings

  • Times Higher Education (THE)

  • Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU – Shanghai Ranking)

2. Mandatory Qualification

For all teaching posts in Veterinary & Animal Sciences faculties:

  • B.V.Sc. / B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a University/College listed in Schedule 1A of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (and amendments).

3. Desirable Qualification

  • Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations, 2016

💰 Pay Scale

Assistant Professor – Academic Level 10

  • Entry Pay: ₹57,700/- per month

  • Plus other allowances as admissible by the Government of Tamil Nadu
