Project Details

Project Title: “Post-Kafala Migration Regimes and Development Outcomes: A Study of Indian Migrant Labour Mobility to Saudi Arabia”

Project Duration: 24 Months (2026–2028)
Nature of Appointment: Temporary / Project-based
Project Location: Kundela, Vadodara, Gujarat

Vacancies

  • Research Assistant: 01 Post
  • Field Investigator: 02 Posts

Research Assistant

Initial Duration: 6–12 months
Maximum Duration: Up to 24 months, subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements.

Remuneration: ₹37,000/- per month (Consolidated) as per ICSSR norms.

Age Limit: 18–40 years

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

  • Postgraduate degree in any Social Science / Interdisciplinary discipline
  • Minimum 55% marks from a recognised university
  • Good academic record and demonstrated research aptitude
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Ability to undertake literature reviews, data management, report preparation and academic writing

Desirable Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D.
  • Research experience in Migration Studies, Diaspora Studies, Labour Studies, Development Studies, Sociology, Public Policy or related interdisciplinary areas
  • Experience in survey design, interviews, data analysis and academic publications
  • Knowledge of Marathi or Arabic
  • Proficiency in SPSS, STATA, R, NVivo, Atlas.ti, MS Excel or related software
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate project activities
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi; Marathi will be an added advantage
