About Organization :

Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri is a premier Agricultural University in Maharashtra working in the areas of Education, Research and Extension Education to provide services to farmers.

In pursuance of the Maharashtra Agricultural University (Krishi Vidyapeeth) Act, 1967, the Maharashtra Agricultural University was initially established for the entire State of Maharashtra and began functioning in March 1968 with its office at Mumbai. The office was shifted to the College of Agriculture, Pune in 1969.

In 1972, four agricultural universities were established in Maharashtra, with Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri being established in 1969 to serve western Maharashtra. The University’s jurisdiction extends over 10 districts: Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Dhule, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Pune, Solapur, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur.

The University is named after the renowned social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor position should possess:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in the relevant field/subject along with NET/SLET/SET prescribed by UGC/ICAR.
  • NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master’s programmes in disciplines where NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
  • Candidates should have two years of experience in Research, Teaching or Extension Education.
  • Candidates must have evidence of at least two published papers in recognized journals having an ISSN number.
  • Short notes / short communications will not be considered as the required publications.

Experience Required

Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the following areas:

  • Teaching
  • Research
  • Extension Education

Publication Requirement

Candidates are required to provide evidence of a minimum of two research papers published in recognized journals with ISSN numbers.

The notification specifically states that short notes and short communications will not be considered for this requirement.

Salary / Pay

Selected candidates will receive a fixed remuneration as mentioned below:

  • ₹45,000/- per month, or
  • ₹25,000/- per month
