About the Recruitment
NIEPA invites eligible candidates for engagement as Guest Faculty on an honorarium basis for the MA (Artificial Intelligence in Education) [MAAIE] Course offered by the Institute.
A total of 04 Guest Faculty positions are available under two categories.
Vacancy Details
Category-I: Guest Faculty – CS / IT / ICT / Educational Technology
Number of Posts: 02
Candidates should possess:
- Master’s Degree or M.Tech. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Artificial Intelligence, or
- Master’s Degree or M.Tech. in Educational Technology, or
- Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
- A minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university is required.
Category-II: Guest Faculty – Education / Allied Subject
Number of Posts: 02
Candidates should possess:
- Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed. / M.A. Education) or an allied subject.
- Relevant allied subjects may include:
- Educational Technology
- Educational Planning and Administration
- Curriculum and Pedagogy
- Digital Pedagogy
- A minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university is required.
NET / SLET / SET / Ph.D. Eligibility
In addition to the prescribed Master’s degree qualification, candidates are required to have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar UGC-accredited test such as SLET/SET.
Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the applicable UGC regulations may be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, subject to the prescribed conditions.
Ph.D. Candidates Registered Before 11th July 2009
Candidates registered for a Ph.D. programme before 11th July 2009 may be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed conditions.
The conditions include:
- The Ph.D. degree must have been awarded in regular mode.
- The Ph.D. thesis must have been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
- An open Ph.D. viva voce must have been conducted.
- The candidate must have published two research papers from their Ph.D. work, of which at least one should be in a refereed journal.
- The candidate must have presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work at conferences/seminars sponsored, funded or supported by UGC, ICSSR, CSIR or a similar agency.
The fulfilment of these conditions must be certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.
NET/SLET/SET is also not required for Master’s programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or a similar UGC-accredited testing body, as applicable.
Foreign University Ph.D.
Candidates holding a Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution may also qualify for exemption where the university/institution has been ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings at any time by any one of the following:
- Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
- Times Higher Education (THE)
- Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Selection Process
The academic score specified under the applicable UGC provisions will be considered for shortlisting candidates for the interview.
The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the interview.
Pay Scale / Honorarium
Guest Faculty will be paid an honorarium as per UGC norms:
₹1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000 per month.
