IIT Roorkee Research Associate Eligibility

Candidates should possess one of the following qualifications:

• M.Tech / M.Arch / MBA with at least 2 years of experience, or
• Ph.D. in Science / Arts

Desirable Academic Background

A Master’s degree such as M.Sc./M.A. in the following or closely related disciplines is desirable:

• Economics
• Statistics
• Finance
• Econometrics

Candidates from reputed or premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, ISI or other leading academic institutions are preferred, as stated in the supplied recruitment details.

Key Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate may be responsible for:

• Conducting research in financial economics, investment research, financial markets and household finance.
• Collecting, cleaning and analysing financial and economic datasets.
• Conducting investment and quantitative research.
• Developing financial and econometric models.
• Performing statistical analysis.
• Converting complex financial and economic information into research insights.
• Using Python and R for data analysis, evaluation and visualisation.
• Preparing reports, tables, charts and research papers.
• Contributing to project research deliverables.

The role may also involve analysis of equity markets, securities, investment decisions, portfolio-related data, financial performance and macroeconomic indicators.

Salary and Fellowship

The selected candidate will receive:

₹30,000 to ₹75,000 per month + HRA

The remuneration will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, as stated in the supplied details.

Duration of Appointment

The initial appointment is for 12 months.

The appointment may be extended for up to another 12 months, subject to the requirements of the project and applicable conditions.
