About the Project
The project is titled:
“MXene-based degradation of life-threatening chemicals and toxic industrial gases”
The research focuses on the synthesis and development of MXenes and their heterostructures with MOF and Metal Oxides for the degradation and detoxification of life-threatening chemicals and toxic industrial gases.
The selected candidate may also be required to travel to RRCAT Indore for synchrotron studies at Indus beamlines and to DRDE Gwalior for detoxification studies.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 01 Post
The appointment will be for 30 months and will be co-terminus with the project or may end if the candidate’s performance is not satisfactory.
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess either:
Option 1
M.Sc. in:
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Materials Science
- Nanoscience
Option 2
M.Tech. in:
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Nanotechnology
- Equivalent discipline
Candidates should have obtained First Division, as defined by the awarding Institute/University.
Preferred Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates who have qualified any of the following:
- GATE
- NET-LS
- NET-Ph.D.
Research Responsibilities
The selected JRF may be involved in:
- Synthesis and development of MXenes
- Development of MXene heterostructures with MOF and Metal Oxides
- Prototype fabric development
- Degradation and detoxification studies
- Advanced materials characterization
The project involves characterization techniques including:
- FESEM
- XRD
- XPS
- XAS
- TEM/HRTEM
- BET
- ICP-OES
- RAMAN
Fellowship
The selected candidate will receive:
₹37,000 per month + 16% HRA
HRA will be provided according to applicable Institute/Government rules.
Age Limit
Maximum Age: 28 years
Appointment Duration
The initial project appointment is for:
30 months
The position is co-terminus with the project and may end if the candidate does not perform satisfactorily.
