About the Opportunity
The recruitment is being conducted by the Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), IIT Madras for the IITM FedEx SMART Center.
The selected Project Associates will work on research and project activities related to supply chain and logistics, including data analysis, optimization, modelling, artificial intelligence, simulation and related research areas.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have:
- A 4-year undergraduate degree or any non-engineering postgraduate degree, and
- A Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field:
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics
- Industrial Engineering
- Operations Research
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Management
- Closely related discipline
Candidate Profile
The Institute is looking for candidates with knowledge or experience in at least three or more of the following areas:
- Supply Chain Management and Logistics
- Reverse Logistics / Sustainable Supply Chains
- Warehouse Management and Operations
- Operations Research and Optimization
- Data Analytics and Problem Solving
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Digital Twin / Simulation
- Python or other data analytics tools
Desirable Skills
Candidates with the following will be preferred:
- Project, research, internship or industry experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing, AI or data analytics
- Basic knowledge of Python
- Knowledge of optimization or simulation
- Data analytics tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and documentation skills
Experience
Relevant professional experience is preferred.
However, fresh Master’s graduates may also be considered based on their academic qualifications, skills and project experience.
Only experience acquired after the minimum qualifying degree will be counted.
Salary
The selected candidates will receive:
₹40,000 – ₹60,000 per month
The remuneration will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Project Associates will be expected to undertake research and project-related activities, including:
- Conducting research and analysis related to supply chain and logistics projects
- Supporting data collection and analysis
- Developing models and optimization solutions
- Conducting modelling and optimization activities
- Developing analytical and research-based solutions
- Performing literature reviews
- Documenting research findings
- Preparing technical reports
- Preparing project deliverables
- Working with faculty, researchers and industry stakeholders
- Supporting project implementation
- Assisting in experimentation and validation
Selection Process
