Essential Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Labour Welfare with:
- At least 55% marks, without including any grace marks or rounding off; or
- An equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed.
The degree must be obtained from:
- An Indian University; or
- An equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
NET / SLET / SET / Ph.D. Requirement
In addition to the Master’s qualification, candidates must have cleared:
- UGC NET, or
- CSIR NET, or
- A similar test accredited by UGC, such as SLET / SET.
Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the applicable UGC regulations may be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement as specified in the notification.
Ph.D. Candidates Registered Before 11 July 2009
The notification provides specific conditions for candidates registered for Ph.D. programmes before 11 July 2009.
Such candidates may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET subject to fulfillment of the prescribed conditions, including:
- The Ph.D. must have been awarded in regular mode.
- The Ph.D. thesis must have been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
- An open Ph.D. viva-voce must have been conducted.
- The candidate must have published two research papers from the Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
- The candidate must have presented at least two papers based on the Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored, funded or supported by UGC, ICSSR, CSIR or a similar agency.
- Fulfillment of these conditions must be certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.
Foreign Ph.D.
The notification also provides an exemption route for candidates whose Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking at any time by one of the following:
- Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
- Times Higher Education (THE)
- Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Salary / Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive:
