Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur, is a leading agricultural university in Himachal Pradesh. Originally established as Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya on 1st November 1978, the university was renamed Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in June 2001.
The College of Agriculture, established in May 1966, served as the foundation for the creation of the agricultural university. CSKHPKV is ICAR accredited and ISO 9001:2015 certified. The university has also been ranked 14th among farm universities in India by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
The university’s mandate includes providing education in agriculture and allied disciplines, advancing agricultural research, and extending scientific knowledge and technologies to rural communities, particularly the people of Himachal Pradesh.
CSKHPKV JRF Recruitment 2026
CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya has invited applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology. The position is associated with a research project focusing on agrobiodiversity, agricultural sustainability, smallholder wellbeing and climate resilience.
The appointment is temporary and will continue up to 30 December 2028 or availability of funds, whichever is applicable.
Project Details
Project Title: Use and conservation of Agrobiodiversity for increased Agricultural Sustainability, smallholder Wellbeing and Resilience to climate change in India
The project focuses on the use and conservation of agricultural biodiversity as a means of supporting sustainable agriculture and improving the resilience and wellbeing of smallholder farming communities in the face of climate change.
Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:
- M.Sc. in any discipline of Life Sciences
- NET qualification through ICAR/UGC/CSIR
Desirable Qualification:
- Candidates with higher qualifications and relevant research experience in the field will be given preference.

Salary and Project Duration
The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive a monthly remuneration of:
₹30,000 + ₹300 HRA per month
