Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) was established with effect from 1 December 2010 under Haryana Act No. 7 of 2010, notified on 7 April 2010. The university is named in honour of Lala Lajpat Rai, a prominent freedom fighter, social reformer and writer popularly known as “Punjab Kesri.” The university’s academic structure includes the College of Veterinary Sciences and other constituent academic units.

Candidates from states other than Haryana will be treated as General category candidates. The university reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of positions, cancel the advertisement, or leave positions unfilled.
Employment Type and Tenure
The positions are temporary, non-regular, non-tenurial and time-bound engagements for the academic year 2026–27.
- Engagement is limited to the academic year, which runs from July to June.
- The engagement will end in June 2027.
- The maximum engagement period shall not exceed one year.
- The positions are not against sanctioned university posts.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for Teaching Associate positions must possess the following qualifications from recognized institutions:
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree: B.Tech./B.Sc./B.V.Sc. & A.H., as specified in the notification.
- Master’s degree: M.Tech./M.Sc./M.V.Sc. in the relevant subject.
Desirable Qualification
- Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject from a recognized institution.

Job Responsibilities
Selected candidates will perform the following duties:
- Provide limited teaching support under the supervision of the Head of Department (HOD).
- Work under the administrative control of the HOD and the Dean, College of Dairy Science and Technology.
- Follow the university’s administrative, financial and disciplinary regulations.
- Maintain regular attendance, recorded by the HOD through an attendance register.
- Perform duties at other locations within the university’s jurisdiction when required by administrative needs.
Teaching Associates will not be assigned administrative or governance-related functions or duties reserved for regular faculty members.
Salary and Remuneration
Fixed monthly honorarium: ₹60,000
- Monthly remuneration: ₹60,000.
- No additional allowances or benefits are admissible.
- Leave entitlement: 15 Casual Leaves and 2 Restricted Holidays per academic year, proportionate to the engagement period where applicable.
- No leave encashment, gratuity, FMA, medical reimbursement, TA/DA, LTC or other allowances will be provided.
