Category-wise vacancies: UR – 16, OBC – 5, SC – 3, ST – 2 and EWS – 3. Vacancies are provisional and may change according to institutional requirements.
Employment Type and Contract Duration
- Teaching Faculty: Initially one year, extendable by up to two additional years based on satisfactory annual performance, subject to the applicable maximum tenure.
- Senior Residents: Initially one year, extendable up to three years based on requirements and satisfactory performance, or until a regular incumbent joins, whichever is earlier. The contract also ends upon attaining 50 years of age.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess the educational qualifications prescribed under the latest National Medical Commission (NMC)/Medical Council of India (MCI) guidelines for the respective posts.
- Valid and updated registration with the NMC or State Medical Council, including applicable postgraduate qualifications.
- Candidates who have applied for updated registration must produce the relevant application documents at the interview, subject to the conditions in the notification.
- Retired and working Professors may also apply for eligible posts.
- Candidates employed in Government, autonomous or statutory institutions should preferably bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
- Private practice is not permitted after joining as teaching faculty.
Age Limit
Age will be calculated as of 26 October 2026.
- Professor: Maximum 67 years.
- Associate Professor: Maximum 67 years.
- Assistant Professor: Maximum 67 years.
- Senior Resident: Maximum 45 years.
Age relaxation is applicable according to prevailing Government of India norms. Teaching faculty engagement cannot extend beyond 70 years of age.
Salary and Remuneration
Selected candidates will receive fixed basic pay plus applicable allowances.

Allowances will be governed by the applicable ESIC orders. Non-medical officers, if selected, are not entitled to Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA). Contractual appointees cannot claim PF, pension, gratuity, medical benefits, seniority or promotion under the stated terms.
Hostel accommodation or quarters may be provided subject to availability. No HRA is payable if such accommodation is availed.
Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit of ₹20,000 per post must be submitted by Demand Draft upon joining. The deposit is refunded after satisfactory completion of the contract and submission of a No Dues Certificate, subject to the notification’s conditions. It may be forfeited if the candidate resigns within six months, except in unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances.

Payment Mode: Demand Draft payable at Surat in favour of “ESI Fund A/c No.-1”. The application fee is non-refundable.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Document verification by the Document Verification Committee.
- Personal interview before the duly constituted Interview Board.
- Final selection based on academic credentials and interview performance.
Only candidates whose documents are verified will be permitted to appear before the Interview Board. Results will be published in the Recruitment section of the ESIC website, and appointment offers will be sent by email.

Department-Wise Interview Schedule
- 26 October 2026: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radiology and Eye.
- 27 October 2026: Anesthesiology, Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, ENT and Dermatology.
Candidates arriving after 10:00 AM will be treated as absent. If the fourth Monday falls on a holiday, the interview will be held on the immediately following date or as officially notified.
