Organisation Profile: IISER Kolkata is functioning from it’s main campus situated in Mohanpur, Nadia – 741246. All the administrative and academic works are being carried out in it’s main campus.The Ministry of Human Resource Development, which is now the Ministry of Education, developed the IISER system with the goal of achieving excellence in the basic sciences. Modern research and teaching facilities are available, and IISER Kolkata graduates have achieved recognition at some of the world’s most prestigious universities. The Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Computational and Data Sciences, and Humanities and Social Sciences are the seven departments that make up the Institute.

Departments have Vacancies: Department of Chemical Sciences

Title of project: Screening for polymorphs, salts and cocrystals using different crystallization techniques, solvent conditions and other variable factors

Funding agency: TCG Life Sciences subaward to IISER-Kolkata

Principle Investigator: Prof. Rahul Banerjee, Professor, Dept. of Chemical Sciences.

Renumeration: Rs.47,000/- per month + HRA(as per DST norms)

Tenure: Initially for a period of 6 months; extendable for a further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Basic Eligibility Criteria: Motivated candidates with a Ph.D. degree (General Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Inorganic Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Material Science).

Age limit:

• Must not be over 32 years as on 31st August 2024, which can be relaxed for certain reserved categories as per the rules of the Government of India.
• Relaxation in age, educational qualification, or experience may be considered in the case of exceptionally meritorious candidates.

Terms and Conditions:

• No TA/DA will be provided to the candidate for the interview.
• The decision of the Selection committee will be final.
• If the number of candidates appearing for the online interview is large, the selection committee may decide to restrict the number of candidates for the interview to a reasonable limit after considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
• The appointment of the candidats will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency, particularly applicable to the said project.
• The selected candidates will have to join duty immediately upon receipt of the offer.
• The fellowship may be terminated with a 30 day notice before completion of the tenure if performance till date is not deemed satisfactory.
