Organization Profile: Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the renowned Muslim reformer and statesman, laid the foundation for the university through his efforts. Following the Indian War of Independence in 1857, Khan believed that Muslims needed to educate themselves in order to participate in public life and government services in India. Sir Syed received assistance from Raja Jai Kishan in founding the university.
