ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: Annamalai University, one of the largest Universities in terms of disciplinary diversity and student enrolment, is also one of the oldest universities in South India. Sprawling over a vast and sylvan campus of 1000 acres, the University houses about 50 Departments of Study under Eight Faculties. Founded by the legendary philanthropist and farsighted visionary, Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar in 1929, Annamalai University has played a key role in social, cultural, and economic uplift of the people across the rungs of society for nearly a century. Annamalainagar, the University Town, is located just to the east of Chidambaram, the Abode of the Cosmic Dancer, Lord Nataraja.
To serve the downtrodden and to promote Tamil Language and Literature, Rajah Sir S. RM. Annamalai Chettiar founded Sri Minakshi College, Sri Minakshi Tamil College and Sri Minakshi Sanskrit College at Chidambaram in the early 1920s. In 1928, Rajah Sir S. RM. Annamalai Chettiar agreed with the local Government to handover the above said institutions for establishing a University. Ever since its establishment, Annamalai University has played an incredible role in the lives of the people near and far.The Annamalai University Act, 1928 served as the university’s legal framework until 2013. The Tamil Nadu Act 20 of 2013, also known as the Annamalai University Act, 2013, was passed in 2013 and went into effect on September 25 of the same year. The university, which maintained its “unitary” status until 2021, was converted to a “affiliating” one, encompassing the districts of Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Villuppuram, and Kallakurichi. Presently, 81 institutions are connected with the university.
Job Overview: Applications are invited from eligible candidates to work as a Project Associate-I on the following project “Establishing Procedures to Manufacture Light Weight Blade-Rings for Aero Engine Applications by Solid State Diffusion Bonding Technique” sponsored by DST-SERB (EEQ/2023/000862) under the supervision of Dr. S. Rajakumar, Associate Professor, Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Annamalai University. The position is purely on temporary basis, with an initial appointment for one year. However, it can be extended up to two years solely based on the performance of the candidate. Further, the candidate will be encouraged for applying to the Ph.D. program of the university, with a high scope of conversion into the program.

Essential Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech (Preferred stream: Metallurgy, Material Science, Welding, Manufacturing , CAD/CAM, CIM and Thermal Engineering)
Desirable Qualification:
- Candidates with GATE scores may be given prioritization.
- Candidates with experience/knowledge in numerical simulation is preferred.
