Essential Qualifications

A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in any of the following disciplines from a recognized Indian or foreign university:

  • Disaster Management

  • Planning

  • Climate Change

  • Sustainability Studies

  • Geoinformatics

  • Data Analytics / Data Science

  • Environment

  • Engineering

  • Actuarial Science

  • Statistics

  • Mathematics

  • Public Policy

  • Political Science

  • Social Science

  • Public Health

 Eligibility (A or B)

A. NET / Ph.D. Route

  • Must have cleared UGC NET / SLET / SET
    OR

  • Awarded a Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016

📍 Ph.D. candidates registered prior to 11 July 2009 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET subject to fulfillment of UGC-prescribed conditions:

  • Ph.D. awarded in regular mode

  • Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners

  • Open Ph.D. viva conducted

  • Two research publications from Ph.D. work (at least one refereed journal)

  • Two conference/seminar paper presentations sponsored/funded by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agencies

  • Certification by Registrar / Dean (Academic Affairs)

📍 NET/SLET/SET not required for disciplines where such eligibility tests are not conducted.

B. Foreign Ph.D. Route

Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university ranked among Top 500 (at any time) by:

  • QS World University Rankings

  • Times Higher Education (THE)

  • Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU – Shanghai Ranking)

Consolidated Salary: ₹86,088/- per month
(Pay Band ₹15,600 – 39,100 with AGP ₹6,000 as per 6th CPC)
