About the Recruitment
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has invited applications for various contractual Teaching Associate, Instructor/Demonstrator and Administrative Associate positions under different departments and centres, including DDU Kaushal Kendra, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, Department of Telugu and the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development (IESD).
The Rajiv Gandhi South Campus (RGSC) is located at Barkachha, Mirzapur, around 75 km from BHU’s main Varanasi campus.
Vacant Positions
1. Teaching Associate
Remuneration:
- ₹63,000/- per month for candidates possessing Ph.D.
- ₹57,000/- per month for candidates without Ph.D.
2. Instructor / Demonstrator
Remuneration: ₹54,000/- per month
3. Administrative Associate
Remuneration: ₹36,600/- per month or Last Pay Minus Pension

Educational Qualifications
Teaching Associate – With Ph.D.
Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in the relevant/allied discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. Preference will be given to NET/SLET/SET/Ph.D. holders. Where NET is not mandatory, relevant industry/professional experience may be considered as per UGC guidelines.
Teaching Associate – Without Ph.D.
Candidates should possess:
- Master’s Degree in relevant/allied discipline
- Minimum 55% marks
- Good academic record
- Adequate practical knowledge of the concerned vocational discipline
Instructor / Demonstrator
Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or three-year Diploma in the relevant discipline/trade from a recognized institution, along with at least two years of experience in industry, laboratory, workshop or skill training related to the concerned discipline.
Teaching Associate – B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture
Candidates should meet the specified qualifications in Agriculture/Agroforestry, including relevant combinations of B.Sc. Agriculture, M.Sc. Agriculture, Ph.D., NET/SLET/SET or UGC-exempted Ph.D., as applicable.
Teaching Associate – IESD
A Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks, along with NET/Ph.D. as per UGC regulations in the relevant subject.
Teaching Associate – Department of Telugu
A Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks, along with NET/Ph.D. as per UGC regulations.
Administrative Associate
Postgraduation with 55% marks along with experience in University/Government organizations.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Preference may be given to candidates having:
- Teaching experience in Higher Educational Institutions
- Industry/professional experience in relevant vocational sectors
- Curriculum development experience
- Laboratory/workshop instruction experience
- Internship coordination experience
- Outcome-based education experience
- ICT-enabled teaching and learning skills
- NSDC/Sector Skill Council or equivalent professional certification
- Experience in practical classes, laboratory management and student skill assessment
