BIMTECH invites applications for a Regular Full-Time Assistant Professor position in the area of Insurance under its IBM Programme.

Assistant Professor – Insurance

Programme: IBM Programme

Employment Type: Regular, Full-Time

Reporting To: Chairperson, IBM Programme

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess:

  • Ph.D. / FPM in Management or a related discipline from a reputed university or institution.

Relevant areas of specialisation include:

  • Insurance Laws & Regulations
  • Marine Insurance
  • Risk Management
  • Insurance Analytics
  • Related Insurance disciplines

Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D./FPM thesis and are awaiting award of the degree are also eligible to apply.

Preferred Profile

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Publications in Insurance and Risk Management.
  • Strong academic and research credentials.
  • University rank-holder credentials.
  • Experience with contemporary teaching tools and methodologies.

Industry practitioners with experience in offline and online teaching may also apply, provided they possess a PGDM/MBA degree.

Key Responsibilities

The selected Assistant Professor will be responsible for:

  • Teaching core and elective Insurance courses.
  • Developing, updating and reviewing course materials.
  • Contributing to curriculum development.
  • Conducting examinations.
  • Preparing question papers and assessment tools.
  • Evaluating and grading students.
  • Supporting declaration of results.
  • Mentoring students in academic and professional development.
  • Conducting and publishing high-quality research.
  • Contributing to academic thought leadership.
  • Publishing at least one journal paper.
  • Contributing to the organisation of Management Development Programmes (MDPs).
  • Developing course materials, information bulletins and academic handbooks.
  • Participating in institutional development and administrative activities.
  • Supporting community outreach initiatives.
  • Undertaking consulting assignments.
  • Strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
  • Coordinating with external experts and guest faculty.
