Project Title
“Documenting and Translating the Cultural Heritage of the Lanjia Saora PVTG: Art, Folktales, and Folksongs from Rayagada District, Odisha”
The project is funded under the ICSSR Special Call for Multi-Disciplinary Studies on the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in India – 2025–26.

1. Research Assistant
Number of Posts: 01
Duration: 8 months
Remuneration: ₹37,000/- per month
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess any one of the following:
- Ph.D.
- M.Phil.
- NET
- Postgraduate degree in any Social Science discipline
Candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks.
Desirable Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Effective communication skills in the Saora language
- Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and local communities
2. Field Investigator
Number of Posts: 01
Duration: 8 months
Remuneration: ₹20,000/- per month
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- Graduate degree in a Social Science discipline
- Minimum 55% marks
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and translation in both Saora and Odia
- Willingness to travel extensively for fieldwork, including rural and interior areas
Nature of Work
Selected candidates will support the ICSSR-funded research project through activities including:
- Documentation of tribal cultural heritage
- Field-based data collection
- Translation and documentation of folk traditions
- Interaction with local communities and stakeholders
- Research assistance and project-related documentation
- Collection and recording of cultural materials
