About the Research Project

The recruitment is being conducted for the DBT-funded project titled:

“Mapping and mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces to broaden the genetic base for improvement of wheat varieties.”

The project is being undertaken by the Division of Genetics, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi.

The selected project staff will contribute to research and field-related activities associated with wheat improvement and the identification/mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces.

Number of Posts: 01

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Master’s degree in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Genetics and Plant Breeding, or Biotechnology with a 4/5-year Bachelor’s degree.

Candidates with a 3-year Bachelor’s degree must have qualified a relevant national-level examination, including:

• CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship
• GATE
• Other national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments/agencies/institutions

Nature of Appointment

The recruitment is for:

• Unreserved positions
• Purely temporary appointments
• Appointments co-terminus with the DBT-funded project

The positions therefore do not constitute permanent employment with ICAR-IARI.
