About the Institute and Project
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for one temporary, contractual Research Associate-I position under an ANRF-funded research project titled “Exploring Optical Activity in Intrinsically Chiral Plasmonic Nanostructures: Bridging Nanoscale Design with Enantioselective Applications.”
The selected candidate will contribute to experimental and theoretical investigations of chiral molecules and nanomaterials, focusing on nanoscale design and enantioselective applications.

Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related subject.
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of their degree may also apply.
- Applicants must provide evidence of high-quality research conducted during or after their Ph.D. programme.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in the synthesis and characterization of plasmonic, inorganic, and organic nanomaterials.
- Experience in photophysical and chiroptical investigations.
- Knowledge of theoretical simulations.
Fellowship and Salary
The monthly fellowship depends on the candidate’s Ph.D. status:
- Candidates holding a Ph.D. degree: ₹58,000 per month plus 10% HRA.
- Candidates awaiting their Ph.D. degree: ₹42,000 per month plus 10% HRA.
Candidates applying under the second category must submit a letter from a competent authority confirming that their thesis has been submitted and the final viva or defence is pending.
A nominal research grant will also be available during the programme.
Age Limit
The maximum age is 35 years as of the application closing date.
Appointment Duration
- Initial tenure: 1 year.
- Extension: Up to 6 months, subject to performance review.
- Nature of appointment: Temporary and contractual.
