About the Recruitment

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, has invited applications from Indian nationals for one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position under a research project sponsored by the Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai.

Selection will be conducted through a walk-in interview on 18th August 2026.

Project Details

Project Title:
“Development and evaluation of similar and dissimilar weld joints between AISI316LN SS and grade P91 using novel variants of A-GTAW”

Sponsoring Agency: Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess:

  • First Class B.Tech.
  • First Class M.Tech.

Specialization in areas such as:

  • Welding Engineering
  • Production Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering

Preference: GATE-qualified candidates will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The selected Senior Research Fellow will assist with:

  • Planning and execution of project activities
  • Procurement of relevant project materials/items
  • Development and experimental evaluation of weld joints
  • Mechanical and metallurgical characterization
  • Analysis of experimental results
  • Preparation of technical reports
  • Submission of regular project progress reports to the funding agency
