Organization Profile: The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (formerly known as National Centre for Plant Genome Research) is an autonomous institution aided by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The Institute’s establishment coincides with the 50th anniversary of India’s independence as well as birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) J. C. Bose. The formal announcement was made on November 30th 1997. This Institute has already placed India among the major contributors to plant genomics.
Designation: Research Associate-I (RA-I)
Essential Qualification: Candidates having Ph. D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology or a related field or having M. Tech. in Biotechnology/Bioinformatic with three years of research experience and one research publication, as mentioned in DST Office Memorandum No. DST/PCPMZ-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023, are eligible to apply.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates having research experience in the areas of protein related work/protein-protein interaction/protein-DNA interaction/epigenetics and gene silencing/ functional genomics, duly supported with relevant publications in SCI Journals (having at least two first-author research papers in SCI journals with more than three impact factors) will be preferred.
The Fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST.
