Position

  • Controller of Examinations (COE)

 Job Summary

The Controller of Examinations is responsible for planning, administering, and monitoring the entire examination process, ensuring efficiency, transparency, confidentiality, and compliance with institutional, statutory, and accreditation norms. The role acts as the central authority for all examination-related activities and stakeholders.

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline

  • Ph.D. is mandatory

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Controller of Examinations, and

  • 10 years of experience in academic administration and examination-related processes in a recognized educational institution

Key Responsibilities

  • Examination planning and scheduling

  • Question paper setting and moderation

  • Examiner appointment and management

  • Conduct of internal, external, theory, and practical examinations

  • Result processing, verification, and declaration

  • Ensuring examination security and confidentiality

  • Handling grievances and resolving examination-related issues

  • Documentation, reporting, and record maintenance

  • Coordination with faculty, administration, and external examiners

  • Compliance with AICTE, Anna University, NAAC, NBA, and other regulatory standards

Candidate Profile

  • Strong understanding of engineering curricula and assessment methodologies

  • In-depth knowledge of examination systems, grading, and evaluation protocols

  • Proficiency in Examination Management Systems, LMS, and digital evaluation tools

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to manage examiner panels, invigilators, and administrative teams

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address discrepancies, malpractices, or unforeseen examination issues
