About the Position
VIT Chennai invites applications for one Project Technical Staff-III position under an ICMR-funded research project titled “Smartphone-based volumetric food analysis and glycemic prediction in diabetes.”
The position is suitable for candidates with strong technical skills in mobile and web application development, Python programming, Large Language Models (LLMs), deep learning and model deployment. The selected candidate is also expected to register for a PhD at VIT Chennai.

Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- M.E./M.Tech. in:
- Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- Biomedical Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Related disciplines
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Mobile application development
- Web application development
- Python programming
- Deep Learning (DL) model development
- DL model deployment
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
Candidates are expected to register for PhD at VIT Chennai.
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be involved in:
- Developing mobile applications.
- Developing web-based applications.
- Developing and deploying deep learning models.
- Working with Python-based programming and AI technologies.
- Contributing to research activities related to smartphone-based food analysis and glycemic prediction.
- Supporting other technical requirements of the ICMR-funded project.
Tenure
The appointment will initially be for one year.
The tenure may be extended for another year, subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements.
VIT Chennai reserves the right to discontinue the position with one month’s notice if performance is found unsatisfactory.
