About the Research Project
The research project, titled “Smart and Sustainable Automation Framework for Zero-Waste Recycling and Biogas Production Plant,” aims to address smart automation and sustainable technology applications in zero-waste recycling and biogas production.
The selected JRF will contribute to research activities associated with the development of the proposed automation framework.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must fulfill one of the following educational qualification routes:
Route 1
M.Tech / Integrated M.Tech in any of the following or equivalent:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Control Engineering
- Energy Engineering
- Instrumentation and Measurements Engineering
- Automation and Robotics Engineering
Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University/Institute.
Route 2
B.E./B.Tech with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University/Institute.
NET/GATE qualification will provide an advantage in the selection process.
Desirable Qualifications
Candidates with the following knowledge and skills will be preferred:
- Sensors and actuators
- PLCs
- Microcontrollers
- Embedded systems
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Data acquisition
- Automation
- Programming in Python
- MATLAB
- C/C++
- AI/ML-based monitoring
- Computer vision
- Robotics
- Industrial communication protocols
Experience or knowledge in these areas will be an added advantage.
Research Responsibilities
The selected candidate will participate in research related to the project:
“Smart and Sustainable Automation Framework for Zero-Waste Recycling and Biogas Production Plant.”
The work will involve contributing to research and development activities under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
Fellowship
The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive:
₹37,000 per month
The fellowship is consolidated and will be paid as per RGIPT Institute Research Grant (IRG) norms.
Duration of Appointment
The overall project duration is three years.
However, the JRF appointment will initially be made for six months. The appointment may subsequently be extended based on:
- Satisfactory performance
- Continuation of the research project
- Applicable IRG rules and RGIPT regulations
The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Ph.D. Opportunity
As a salient point of the recruitment, the selected candidate may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. Programme at RGIPT, subject to:
- Satisfactory performance
- Fulfilment of the Institute’s eligibility criteria
- Successful completion of the prescribed selection procedure
This opportunity is subject to the applicable RGIPT Ph.D. admission rules and does not constitute automatic admission.
Relaxation and Other Terms
Relaxation in the minimum qualifying percentage of marks and age limit will be applicable to SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates as per Government of India rules.
Other applicable conditions include:
- RGIPT Institute Research Grant (IRG) rules will apply.
- RGIPT regulations will apply.
- The appointment is purely temporary.
- The appointment will be co-terminus with the project.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be informed through email/phone.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
- RGIPT reserves the right not to fill the position if suitable candidates are not found.
- The Institute may modify the selection process without assigning any reason.
