About the Recruitment
Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) has issued a rolling advertisement for engagement of Visiting Professor, Distinguished Visiting Faculty and Honorary Faculty in various University Teaching Departments.
The university is inviting retired Professors for these engagements. The period of engagement will be as per University norms and may be extended from time to time according to University rules, or until a regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier.

Distinguished Visiting Faculty
Senior academicians, government officers, industry personnel and eminent personalities who have made significant contributions to knowledge in relevant disciplines may be engaged as Distinguished Visiting Faculty.
Honorarium: ₹5,000/- per hour, subject to a maximum ceiling of ₹80,000/- per month.
The Distinguished Visiting Faculty member should normally be from outside the University. A visit generally should not exceed two days per visit, with a maximum of four visits per month unless prior permission is obtained.
Travel expenses may be provided as per entitlement, along with free lodging and boarding in the Guest House.
Honorary Faculty
Honorary Faculty are expected to contribute substantially to scholarly and academic activities and mentor faculty members in teaching and research.
The engagement may include:
- Delivering lectures
- Conducting seminars
- Participating in academic discussions
- Mentoring faculty members
- Supporting research projects
- Contributing to academic and research excellence
The terms shown in the advertisement provide for travel cost as per entitlement and free lodging and boarding in the Guest House/transit accommodation, subject to the specified conditions.
Visiting Professor
A Visiting Professor should be an outstanding scholar with significant contributions to the relevant discipline and proven credentials.
Generally, a person who has held or is holding a Professor-level position, or has achieved distinction outside the university sector in industry or another field, may be considered.
Weightage may be given to national/international awards, patents and membership of high-level committees of State or Central Government organizations.
A person should not normally be appointed as Visiting Professor at the same university where they held a post immediately before superannuation.
For a superannuated person, the honorarium should not exceed ₹1,00,000/- per month, excluding superannuation benefits. A Visiting Professor from outside India may be paid an honorarium up to ₹1,50,000/- per month, subject to the applicable conditions.

- Serve as mentors and sources of academic inspiration
- Share practical and real-time experience with students, researchers and faculty
- Facilitate industry–institute interaction
- Promote entrepreneurial activities
- Mentor faculty in teaching and research
