Tezpur University invites applications from eligible and qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Design on a contractual basis.
Position
Assistant Professor – Design
Essential Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree in one of the following areas:
- Design
- Interaction Design
- Product Design
- Visual Communication Design
In addition, candidates should have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 4-year Diploma in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts or Architecture; or
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with First Class or equivalent; and
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent Post Graduate Diploma with First Class or equivalent in a relevant/allied discipline, including:
- Industrial Design
- Visual Communication
- Fine Arts
- Applied Arts
- Architecture
- Interaction Design
- New Media Studies
- Design Management
- Ergonomics
- Human Factors Engineering
- Indian Craft Studies
- Related fields of Engineering or Design
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
Preference may be given to candidates having:
- Minimum 2 years of professional design experience in industry, research organizations or the design sector.
- Teaching or research experience in a University or an Institute of National Importance.
Salary / Pay Scale
Assistant Professor – Contractual
Selected candidates appointed as Assistant Professors on a contractual basis will receive a fixed emolument of ₹80,000 per month. No other allowances will be admissible.
Guest Faculty
Guest Faculties will be paid ₹1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000 per month. No other allowances will be admissible.
Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be required to appear before the Selection Committee physically. The date and details of the selection process will be notified by Tezpur University in due course.
