Academic Departments

The University of Kerala is considering Assistant Professor appointments against anticipated vacancies across all Teaching Departments.

Candidates must possess qualifications relevant to the particular subject or discipline for which they are applying. Applicants should refer to the applicable requirements for their concerned department while completing the online application.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade, in the concerned, relevant or allied subject from:

• A recognized Indian University; or
• An equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

A 5% relaxation in marks is available to candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories, as per the applicable rules.

Candidates should also have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for appointment as Assistant Professor.

Candidates possessing a Ph.D. degree in the concerned, relevant or allied subject may be considered in accordance with the applicable University and UGC norms.

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with a strong academic and research profile may be preferred. Relevant teaching or research experience, research publications, academic contributions and experience in university-level teaching or research will be advantageous.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 50 years as on 1 January 2026.

Relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable to eligible candidates belonging to categories such as SC, ST and OBC, as per the applicable rules.

Selected candidates appointed as Assistant Professors will receive a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 45,000 per month.

The appointment is purely contractual and does not constitute a permanent appointment to the University.
