Organization Profile: The University of Hyderabad, situated in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is a renowned public research institution. It was established in 1974 and boasts a predominantly residential campus with over 5,000 students and 400 faculty members representing various disciplines. . The university was founded based on the Six-Point Formula of 1973. Notably, the first vice-chancellor of the university was Gurbaksh Singh, an organic chemist from Banaras Hindu University, who served from 1974 to 1979. The university’s inaugural chancellor was Shri B D Jatti. In recognition of its excellence, the University of Hyderabad was honored with the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India in January 2015, presented by the President of India.
