About the Institution
The history of Jamia Hamdard began in 1906 with the establishment of a small Unani clinic by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, a renowned practitioner of the Unani System of Medicine.
His vision was to develop Unani medicine as a scientific discipline and improve the effectiveness of traditional medical treatments. He named his initiative “Hamdard”, meaning sympathy for all and sharing of pain.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for Guest / Visiting Faculty positions must fulfil the following educational qualifications:
- B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in the relevant or core subject with a minimum of 55% marks from a UGC-recognised University or Institution.
- Alternatively, an equivalent recognised qualification in the concerned discipline.
- NET qualification OR a doctorate degree in the concerned subject from a recognised university.
NET / Ph.D. Exemption
Candidates possessing a postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% marks in Core Paramedical Subjects are exempted from the NET/Ph.D. condition as per UGC Regulations 2018.
