VIT Project Scientist-I Recruitment 2026
Vellore Institute of Technology has invited applications for the position of Project Scientist-I for a research project involving droplet microfluidics, 3-dimensional organoid generation and advanced drug screening applications.
The position is suitable for candidates with an engineering or technology background and relevant professional or research experience in biomedical devices, scientific instrumentation or precision systems.
Project Title
“Droplet-Microfluidic-based High-throughput 3-Dimensional Organoid Generator for Advanced Drug Screening Applications”
The project focuses on developing a high-throughput platform based on droplet microfluidics for generating three-dimensional organoids. Such systems can support advanced laboratory research and drug screening by enabling controlled development and analysis of biological models.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Computer Science
- Closely related disciplines
The degree must be obtained from a recognized institution.
In addition to the educational qualification, candidates must have at least two years of professional or research experience in the design and development of biomedical devices, scientific instrumentation or precision instrumentation.
Required Technical Experience
Candidates should have demonstrable hands-on experience covering both hardware and software aspects. Their experience should ideally be supported by work that they can explain and defend during the interview.
