About the Recruitment

The National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, Department of Electrical Engineering, has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a sponsored research project.

Project Details

Project Title:
Design and Experimental Evaluation of Resonant Gate Driving in High-Efficiency GaN-Based Three-Phase Propulsion Drives for E-Mobility

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:

  • B.Tech. and M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • First Class with 6.5 CGPA out of 10 or 60% marks

Desirable Qualifications:

  • GATE qualification is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates specializing in:
    • Power Electronics & Drives
    • Electrical Machines & Drives
    • Related disciplines
  • Knowledge of SiC and GaN wide-bandgap semiconductors, gate drivers, and advanced vehicle/electric vehicle drives will be desirable.

Fellowship

  • 1st & 2nd Year: ₹37,000/- per month + HRA
  • 3rd Year: ₹42,000/- per month + HRA

Nature of Work

The selected JRF will undertake analysis, simulation and experimental work related to driving circuits for wide-bandgap semiconductor devices and inverter design.

Duration

The position is temporary and will initially be for one year. It may be extended up to 27 months or completion of the project, whichever occurs earlier, subject to satisfactory performance.
