About the Recruitment

The Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) has invited applications for the position of Research Assistant (RA) under an ICSSR-sponsored Major Research Project. The appointment is purely temporary and will be for a period of 18 months.

Project Title

“Living the Divine: Trans-ecologies, Sacred Belonging, and Sustainable Identities: A Comparative Ethnographic Study of Transgender Narratives in India”

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess a Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks in English Literature or a Social Science discipline such as:

  • Sociology
  • Anthropology
  • Gender Studies
  • Social Work
  • Political Science
  • Cultural Studies
  • Related disciplines

Additional Qualification: NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D.

Desirable Profile

Preference will be given to candidates having:

  • Prior research experience
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to research
  • Good communication and report-writing skills

Key Responsibilities

The selected Research Assistant will:

  • Assist the Project Director and Co-Project Directors with literature review, data collection and analysis
  • Conduct interviews or surveys for research data collection
  • Support data entry, organisation and basic analysis
  • Prepare progress reports and presentations
  • Contribute to academic publications
