Areas of Opportunity
The positions are associated with two specialized centres of excellence:
1. School of Interdisciplinary Research and Entrepreneurship (SIRE) – Pilani Campus
The role focuses on strengthening entrepreneurship education and industry-driven experiential learning.
- Design and deliver industry-aligned entrepreneurship programs.
- Develop experiential learning curricula.
- Mentor student and faculty start-ups.
- Guide technology transfer, business scaling, incubation, and commercialization.
- Establish collaborations with corporate organizations, venture capitalists, and industry networks.
2. Advanced Research Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies (ARCSET) – K K Birla Goa Campus
The centre focuses on clean energy, decarbonization, sustainable technologies, and national-impact research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead translation-focused research projects in clean energy technologies.
- Work on renewable energy integration and decarbonization frameworks.
- Develop industry-academia partnerships.
- Support commercialization of sustainable energy solutions.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications
BITS Pilani is looking for accomplished professionals with substantial leadership experience in relevant sectors.
Experience: Typically 10+ years of high-level industry or sector experience.
Preferred Background: Seasoned industry professionals, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and recognized domain experts.
Educational Qualification: A Ph.D. is desirable, although a distinguished professional track record and significant industry achievements are given primary importance for the Professor of Practice role.
