Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, has invited applications for the engagement of Teaching Faculty in Mathematics under the Department of Physical Sciences and Languages. The recruitment is being conducted on a purely temporary basis for teaching during the 1st and 2nd semesters of the Academic Year 2026–27. CSKHPKV is an agricultural university located at Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. Established on 1 November 1978 as an expansion of the College of Agriculture founded in 1966, the university focuses particularly on hill agriculture and agricultural education and research. The institution is accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and other academic programmes in various disciplines.

Job Details

The available position is Teaching Faculty – Mathematics in the Department of Physical Sciences and Languages. The engagement is temporary and will be made on a contact-hour basis.

Candidates applying for the position should possess a Master’s Degree in Mathematics with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade from a recognized Indian or accredited foreign university. Candidates are also required to have cleared the UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET or another UGC-accredited eligibility test, wherever applicable.

Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with the applicable UGC regulations may be exempted from the NET requirement. Specific exemptions may also apply to candidates registered for Ph.D. before 11 July 2009, subject to conditions relating to the mode of Ph.D., thesis evaluation, viva-voce, research publications and conference or seminar presentations. NET is not required for Master’s programmes in disciplines where NET is not conducted. A relaxation from 55% to 50% may be applicable to Ph.D. holders who completed their Master’s degree before 19 September 1991.

Salary / Pay

Selected candidates will receive remuneration based on contact hours. Master’s degree holders will be paid Rs. 850 per contact hour, subject to a maximum of Rs. 35,000 per month. Ph.D. degree holders will receive Rs. 1,000 per contact hour, subject to a maximum of Rs. 42,000 per month.
