Faculty Recruitment 2026:

The Department of Dermatology & Venerology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has invited applications from eligible candidates for various temporary project human resource positions under an ICMR-funded research project.

The project is titled:

“Development of a Transvaginal Probe-Based Dermatoscope with Automated AI-Enabled Decision Support for Detection of Cancers and Infections” (I-1875)

The project is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and has a duration of 06 months.

A total of 5 project positions are available, covering AI/ML research, biotechnology/life sciences, technical support and field investigation.

Vacancy Details

The appointment is purely temporary and initially for 06 months or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier. Extension may be considered depending upon project requirements and satisfactory performance.

1. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) – AI/ML Scientist

No. of Post: 01
Monthly Emoluments: ₹67,000 + 30% HRA
Maximum Age: 40 years

Essential Qualification

Candidates should have:

• Four-year B.Tech degree in IT/CS, with three years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field; OR
• Engineering degree in AI/ML.

Desirable Experience

Preference/desired experience includes:

• Strong experience in AI/ML model development
• Experience in Python and machine-learning/deep-learning frameworks
• Experience in image/data analysis
• Experience in dataset preparation, preprocessing and validation
• Experience in medical/clinical AI research
• Experience in algorithm development and model performance evaluation

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Data analysis
• Algorithm development
• Implementation of AI/ML models
• Dataset management
• Development of computational pipelines
• Model training and validation
• Supporting integration of AI/ML systems with clinical modules.

2. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

Monthly Emoluments: ₹67,000 + 30% HRA
Maximum Age: 40 years

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Postgraduate Degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Molecular Biology/Biomedical Sciences or related background, including an integrated PG degree, in a relevant subject/field with three years of post-qualification experience;
  OR
• Ph.D. in a relevant subject/field

Desirable Experience

Candidates with the following experience are desirable:

• OPD-based clinical/research work
• Patient recruitment
• Clinical sample collection, processing and storage
• DNA/RNA extraction
• PCR-based techniques
• Laboratory research
• Sample handling and documentation
• Clinical/research data collection and management

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist in:

• OPD-based patient screening
• Patient recruitment
• Clinical data collection
• Clinical sample collection, processing, labelling and storage
• Sample preparation
• DNA/RNA extraction
• PCR and other project-related laboratory procedures
• Maintaining laboratory records
• Ensuring sample quality and proper documentation
• Supporting clinical, laboratory and research activities
• Data entry and management
• Coordination of OPD and laboratory work as per the approved study protocol.

3. Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)

Maximum Age: 35 years

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Postgraduate Degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Molecular Biology/Biomedical Sciences or a related background, including an integrated PG degree, in a relevant subject/field.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in sample processing
• DNA/RNA extraction and PCR
• Laboratory research and documentation
• Clinical/research data collection

4. Project Technical Support-III

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Three-year Graduate Degree in a relevant subject/field with three years of post-qualification experience;
  OR
• Postgraduate Degree in a relevant subject/field.

For Engineering/IT/CS, a four-year Graduate Degree is specified.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in sample collection and laboratory work
• Experience in data preprocessing, data entry and documentation
• Knowledge of AI/ML-based research
• Experience in handling research equipment and maintaining records

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Assist in research and AI-related activities
• Support data collection and preprocessing
• Assist with model implementation
• Contribute to laboratory work
• Assist with equipment maintenance and testing
• Support integration of AI-based systems.

5. Project Technical Support-I – Field Investigator

No. of Post: 01
Monthly Emoluments: ₹18,000 + 30% HRA
Maximum Age: 28 years

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess either:

• 10th + Diploma/MLT/DMLT/ITI in a relevant field/subject, with two years of experience in the relevant subject/field, as applicable under ICMR norms;
  OR
• Three-year Graduate Degree in a relevant subject/field + one year of experience in the relevant subject/field.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in field-based research
• Participant recruitment/coordination
• Clinical or community data collection
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel to peripheral AIIMS centres
• Experience in maintaining research records and data collection forms

Job Responsibilities

The Field Investigator will be responsible for:

• Field data collection across peripheral AIIMS centres/outreach centres/Hajjar
• Participant coordination
• Ensuring data quality and completeness
• Assisting in multicentric data collection
• Participant follow-up
• Documentation
• Supporting real-world implementation of the project.
