Organization Profile: The establishment of the university attributed to the efforts of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, a prominent Muslim reformer statesman. Following the Indian War of Independence in 1857, he recognized the necessity for Muslims to pursue education, engage actively in public affairs & government roles in India. Raja Jai Kishan played a significant role in supporting Sir Syed in founding the university. The British decision in 1842 to discontinue the use of Persian for government positions , legal proceedings caused considerable concern among Muslims in the subcontinent. Sir Syed identified the urgent need for Muslims to attain proficiency in the English language, Western sciences to preserve their social & political influence, in Northern India.

Essential Qualifications:

A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks from an Indian university /an equivalent qualification from a recognized foreign institution. the aforementioned qualifications, candidates must have successfully cleared the NET/SET / possess a Ph.D. degree awarded in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards & Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 / 2016, along with any subsequent amendments. Candidates who registered for the Ph.D. program prior to July 11, 2009, will be subject to the regulations that were in effect at the time of their registration & the institution’s governing ordinances.

• The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has awarded in regular mode only;
• The Ph.D. thesis has evaluated by atleast two examiners;
• An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has conducted;
• The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which atleast one is in a refereed journal;
• The candidate has presented atleast two papers, based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars, sponsored/ funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR /any similar agency.
  Note:
  1. The fulfilment of these conditions is to certified by the Registrar / Controller of Examination of the University
  2. NET/SET shall not required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR /Similar test by the UGC like SLET/ NET
  The Ph.D degree has obtained from foreign university/ institute with ranking among top 500 in the world university ranking by any one of the following:
  i. Quacquarelli Symonds(QS)
  ii. the Times Higher  Education (THE)
  iii. the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong
  University (Shanghai).

Emoluments: Rs. 1500/-per Lecture to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/-
