Educational Qualifications
1. General Eligibility
For most disciplines, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Community Science or Veterinary Science, as relevant to the post.
- A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent CGPA of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or 7.00 on a 10-point scale.
- National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification, unless the discipline is exempt from NET or the candidate qualifies for the specified Ph.D.-based exemption.
- A minimum API/PBAS score of 44 out of 80 for General candidates and 40 out of 80 for SC/ST candidates to be called for an interview.
For Sericulture, the essential Bachelor’s degree requirement is in Sericulture or Agriculture.
Ph.D. exemption from NET: The supplied notification specifies conditions relating to the course-credit system under the UGC Ph.D. Regulations, 2009, and at least two full-length publications with a NAAS rating of 5 or above by the application deadline. Agricultural Engineering is specifically exempt from the NET requirement.
2. Agro-meteorology
- Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics or Meteorology as the major subject, or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Community Science, Fisheries or Forestry.
- Master’s degree in Meteorology or Agricultural Meteorology with at least 55% marks or the specified equivalent CGPA.
- NET qualification or the applicable Ph.D.-based exemption.
- Minimum API/PBAS score as specified in the notification.
3. Agricultural Business Management (ABM)
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Community Science, Fisheries, Forestry or Agricultural Engineering.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration with at least 55% marks or the specified equivalent CGPA.
Alternatively, an MBA/PGDM from a reputed institution such as an IIM, together with two years of work experience in a reputed organization, is specified in the notification.
- NET qualification or the applicable Ph.D.-based exemption.
- Minimum API/PBAS score as prescribed.
4. Agricultural Statistics
- Bachelor’s degree in Science with Statistics as the major subject, or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Community Science, Fisheries or Forestry.
- Master’s degree in Statistics or Agricultural Statistics with at least 55% marks or the specified equivalent CGPA.
- NET qualification or the applicable Ph.D.-based exemption.
- Minimum API/PBAS score as prescribed.
5. Computer Science
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application, Information Technology, Engineering or Science with Computer Science as the major subject.
- Master’s degree in Computer Application, Information Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Computer Science, with at least 55% marks or the specified equivalent CGPA.
- NET qualification or the applicable Ph.D.-based exemption.
- Minimum API/PBAS score as prescribed.
6. Food Science and Technology
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or an equivalent degree relevant to the post.
- Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Dairy Technology, Post-Harvest Technology or an equivalent discipline, with at least 55% marks or the specified equivalent CGPA.
- NET qualification or the applicable Ph.D.-based exemption.
- Minimum API/PBAS score as prescribed.
