Position Overview

Applications are invited from qualified and enthusiastic candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine. The selected faculty member will contribute to undergraduate teaching, medico-legal services, research activities, and departmental development in accordance with National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Activities

  • Deliver undergraduate teaching as per the NMC Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum.
  • Conduct practical classes, tutorials, seminars, demonstrations, and internal assessments.
  • Mentor and guide MBBS students in academic and professional development.
  • Support curriculum implementation and academic quality standards.

Medico-Legal Responsibilities

  • Assist in medico-legal autopsies and postmortem examinations.
  • Maintain medico-legal documentation and records.
  • Participate in forensic investigations and medico-legal case evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and institutional protocols.

Research & Publications

  • Participate in departmental research projects and academic publications.
  • Present scholarly work at conferences, CMEs, and scientific meetings.
  • Encourage research activities among students and junior faculty.

Departmental Administration

  • Maintain departmental records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NMC and institutional standards.
  • Participate in academic committees, workshops, and community awareness programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • MBBS with MD/DNB in Forensic Medicine.
  • Eligibility as per NMC norms for Assistant Professor.
  • Valid State Medical Council/NMC Registration.

Experience

  • Teaching experience in a recognized medical institution is preferred.
