About Central University of Jammu
The Central University of Jammu came into existence on 8 August 2011 with the appointment of its first Vice-Chancellor. The university was established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Act No. 25 of 2009).
The university initially started its academic activities with postgraduate programmes in English, Economics and Applied Mathematics, followed by programmes in areas including Computer Science, Educational Studies, Environmental Sciences, Human Resource Management and Travel & Tourism Management.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Convertible to PhD
The recruitment is for candidates who will pursue a PhD under the Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Sciences.
The selected candidates will be registered for PhD under the:
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
and will be mentored by the:
Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Sciences, Central University of Jammu.
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Computer Science and Engineering
- M.Tech./M.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Computer Science and Engineering
- Valid GATE / NET / NET-JRF qualification
Candidates should satisfy the complete eligibility requirements specified by the university.
Nature of the Position
The position is specifically linked with PhD registration.
Candidates will be selected on the basis that they are required to pursue a PhD under the Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Sciences.
The PhD registration will be under the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Fellowship / Pay Scale
The fellowship offered is:
First Two Years
₹37,000 per month + HRA
as per Central University of Jammu norms.
Third Year
If the project continues:
₹42,000 per month + HRA
as per CU Jammu norms.
If the Project Discontinues
In case the project is discontinued, the advertisement states that:
₹25,000 per month will be provided from the University Fund (IRG).
