Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology. The recruitment is for a temporary research position under the project titled “Use and conservation of Agrobiodiversity for increased Agricultural Sustainability, smallholder Wellbeing and Resilience to climate change in India.”
The position is suitable for candidates with an M.Sc. in Life Sciences and a valid ICAR/UGC/CSIR NET qualification. Interested candidates must submit their applications through post by the prescribed deadline.
About CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya
Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya was established on 1 November 1978 and was renamed Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in June 2001.
The university has its origins in the College of Agriculture, which was established in May 1966. CSKHPKV is an ICAR-accredited and ISO 9001:2015 certified institution and has a mandate covering education, research and extension activities in agriculture and allied sciences.
The university plays an important role in agricultural education and research, particularly in areas relevant to the rural communities and agricultural development of Himachal Pradesh.

Educational Qualification
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess:
M.Sc. in any discipline of Life Sciences
along with qualification in:
- ICAR NET, or
- UGC NET, or
- CSIR NET
Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational and eligibility conditions at the time of application.
Desirable Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates possessing higher qualifications and relevant research experience in the field.
Candidates with research experience related to agricultural biotechnology, biodiversity, life sciences, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture or related areas may therefore have an advantage during the selection process.
Project Duration
The project is scheduled to continue up to 30 December 2028, subject to the availability of funds.
The appointment of the selected JRF will therefore be governed by the duration and funding availability of the research project.
Remuneration
The selected candidate will receive:
₹30,000 + ₹300 HRA per month
The remuneration will be subject to the applicable project rules and terms of appointment.
